Case Conceptualization Masterclass 4 CEUs

Overview:

Effective case conceptualization is the foundation of strong clinical work, guiding assessment, treatment planning, and intervention selection. However, many clinicians struggle to move beyond surface-level understanding of symptoms, leading to fragmented treatment approaches and limited progress with complex cases. Without a clear and cohesive framework, therapy can become reactive rather than intentional.

In this presentation, Dr. Zairys Feliz, Ph.D., LCSW, will guide participants in developing advanced case conceptualization skills to deepen clinical insight and improve treatment outcomes. Attendees will learn how to integrate multiple domains—including presenting concerns, developmental history, attachment patterns, cognitive and behavioral processes, and environmental factors—into a structured and meaningful formulation. Emphasis will be placed on translating conceptualization into actionable treatment plans, identifying maintaining factors, and adapting interventions based on evolving client needs. Participants will explore practical frameworks and real-world examples to strengthen clinical decision-making, enhance therapeutic direction, and increase confidence when working with complex or stuck cases.

Objectives:

  • Analyze key components of effective case conceptualization across multiple clinical domains.

  • Develop structured formulations that identify underlying and maintaining factors.

  • Apply case conceptualization to inform treatment planning and intervention selection.
